Podemos Leaders’ Pro-Sahrawi March Sparks Diplomatic Tension with Morocco

The participation of Podemos leaders in the "March for Freedom" in support of the Sahrawi people, which took place on Saturday in Madrid, has revived tensions between Spain and Morocco. For the Moroccans, it is a "provocation".
"You have an ally," among other things, the Podemos leaders, including Carolina Alonso, the party’s spokeswoman in the Assembly, declared at this march for a "free Sahara". Statements that sound bad in this context of a major diplomatic crisis between Morocco and Spain. It is, nothing more and nothing less, a "provocation".

"The Podemos party has contributed to the escalation of tension" between Morocco and Spain, writes Hespress, for example. The site accompanies the article with a caricature in which we see a bull with its horns cut off, a symbol of a diminished Spain, cleaning with a Spanish flag the traces of blood left by Brahim Ghali after his passage.
To recall, the Podemos representatives in the government had spoken in favor of holding a referendum in the Sahara, long before the entry of Brahim Ghali into Spain, provoking the anger of the kingdom. Tension then rose a notch with the reception of the Polisario Front leader and the massive arrival of some 10,000 migrants in Ceuta.
