EU Pledges Continued Support for Morocco’s COVID-19 Response and Partnership

The European Union is committed to "advancing its partnership with the kingdom," according to the Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Oliver Varhelyi. This Thursday, he also reiterated the Commission’s support for the fight against coronavirus in Morocco.
During the telephone conversation between Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and the European representative, Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi promised on behalf of the European Union to use all means to improve the partnership between Morocco and the commission. He also reiterated the European Union’s support for the fight against coronavirus.
Last December, the Minister of Finance, Mohamed Benchaâboun, had requested the support of the European Union to participate more significantly in the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment. In the European plan for the kingdom, the commission’s participation in the Mohammed VI Strategic Investment Fund is planned.
This support is also added to the support for the Morocco-EU Green Partnership and the Kingdom’s renewable energy objectives, support for the implementation of social protection systems, support for the Generation Green agricultural strategy, or support for the higher education sector.
