PJD Challenges Legality of Rabat Mayor’s Election in Court

The PJD filed a request on Monday against the legality of the election of the RNI mayor of Rabat, Asmaa Rhlalou and that of the members of the office.
After their electoral debacle at the national level, the PJD members are sharpening their last weapons in the regions to be able to exist on the political chessboard.
During a press conference held on Sunday at their headquarters, the president of the group of elected officials within the Rabat council, Lahcen El Omarani, indicated that the PJD will appeal against the election of the new mayor of the city, to the administrative court of Rabat.
The reason is the non-compliance with the texts regarding the deadline for the election. According to him, the election of the mayor and his deputies took place within a period exceeding the one provided for by the regulations in force, namely 15 days.
On this occasion, the former PJD mayor Mohammed Sadiki presented a report on the progress made in the vital sectors of the city. He refuted the criticisms of the new occupants of the town hall who, according to him, are very early in the persecution and in the easy judgments.
