Pioneering Moroccan Theater Artist Abdeladim Chennaoui Dies at 85

Moroccan artist Abdeladim Chennaoui died on Friday, July 10 in Casablanca, following a long illness. He was 85 years old.
The Moroccan Union of Theater, Cinema and Television Workers issued a statement to honor the memory of the illustrious deceased. "It is with great sorrow that the members of the national executive office of the union and its regional and provincial branches have learned of the death of the artist Abdeladim Chennaoui," writes the union.
The late artist is one of the pioneers of Moroccan theater. This native of Casablanca contributed to the enrichment of the repertoire of the national cultural and artistic movement, notably with the troupe of "Arab Brotherhood" or that of the "United Artists" with timeless works such as "At-taich", "Al-jaiza" and "Inkasar zoujaj", adds the same source.
The late Chennaoui is also known on the media scene. To his credit, more than 50 radio programs and several appearances in dramatic works on the small screen. This great name of Moroccan culture is a laureate of the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo.
