Philosophy Professor Attacked at Moroccan University Over Accusations of Heresy

This is happening at the Faculty of Letters and Humanities in Mohammedia. A research professor of philosophy was assaulted by a student (who is not from the same department) after the latter called him a heretic and claimed that philosophy sows atheism (in the minds of students).
A student is said to have tried to physically assault a professor after a rather heated discussion. This student was calling the philosophy professor-researcher, Mourad Zouine, of the Faculty of Letters and Humanities in Mohammedia, a heretic. And the subject of philosophy itself would have been treated by this student as a path to apostasy and atheism.
Allal el Maleh, in a column published on Perspectivesmed, states: "What just happened at the faculty in Mohammedia must not be overlooked. Whatever the circumstances, such verbal aggression must not be excused on the grounds that nothing serious has been perpetrated." Other sources also claim that the student wanted to come to blows.
Going further, Allal el Maleh says: "Mourad Zouine, a teacher by profession, needs all the solidarity that Moroccan society can give him. That a stray among the sheep who do not know themselves has dared to sully him by reproaching him for teaching a subject that promotes apostasy, this is intolerable!"
