Peugeot Resumes Production at Moroccan Plant with Enhanced COVID-19 Safety Measures

The PSA Group is restarting its Kénitra plant this Thursday, May 6, 2020. Health measures have been strengthened in all industrial and commercial sites for this purpose.
In anticipation of the gradual and secure restart of the Kénitra plant on May 6, 2020, the kingdom’s health authorities visited the site to assess the implementation of health measures in the fight against covid-19.
Yann Vincent, Industrial Director of the PSA Group, indicated that industrial activity is driven by commercial activity. The restart of production sites is placed under the sign of a high level of protection for personnel and the company, he continues, noting that the industrial apparatus will be restarted in a gradual and secure manner, for the manufacture of cars demanded by customers.
Samir Cherfan, Executive Vice President, Africa & Middle East region of the PSA Group, stressed that thanks to the collective effort, validated by the audit of April 14, the company will calmly resume the manufacture of the Peugeot 208 in a gradual and secure manner, while finalizing the ramp-up of the Citroën Ami and preparing the conditions for doubling its production capacity in Kénitra.
The PSA Group is acting, it is said, for the protection of its employees and its customers, while ensuring the sustainability of the company; which motivated the support of the Minister of Industry in the resumption of industrial activity at the Kénitra plant. He welcomed the efforts made by the group to implement a strengthened health protocol within the plant. A PSA Group press release indicated that since the beginning of the crisis, the priority has been to protect the health of its employees and ensure the sustainability of the company.
Upon resumption, it will be a question of verifying on site the application of barrier measures and gestures.
