Petition Urges Rabat City Council to Address Public Toilet Shortage

A petition is currently circulating in Rabat. At the origin of this initiative, the Nashid Center for an Enlightened Society is calling on the president of the city council, Fatiha El Moudni, on a subject that is annoying in Morocco: the lack of public toilets in the capital.
For the association, the situation is urgent. Rabat, the Capital of Lights, hosts many international events, and the comfort of residents as well as visitors must be a priority. Moreover, the implementation of public toilets is, according to the petitioners, in line with the royal vision for positive citizenship.
The spokespersons of the association recall that access to sanitation is a fundamental right. "It is a matter of health, the environment and human dignity," they explain.
While Rabat has many green spaces and leisure areas, it is clear that the lack of public toilets is a problem. "Some corners of the city have become real open-air toilets," laments the association, pointing to the health and olfactory consequences of this situation.
The petition also points out that Rabat, as the capital of the kingdom, welcomes thousands of Moroccans from all over the country every day. The lack of public toilets then becomes a real headache for these visitors.
The Nashid Center for an Enlightened Society hopes that the issue of toilets will be on the agenda of the next city council meeting and that concrete solutions will be quickly implemented.
