Pediatrician in Morocco Faces Trial for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Minors

A septuagenarian pediatrician is being prosecuted before the Court of Appeal of Rabat in a case of rape and misappropriation of minors and exploitation of persons in vulnerable situations. A minor is also being prosecuted as an accomplice.
The case was revealed at the end of May when the Témara police brigade had received a complaint from the parents of two adolescents aged 12 and 17 for the misappropriation of minors via pornographic digital content.
According to Assabah, the initial elements of the judicial investigation confirmed the victims’ statements. To operate smoothly, the pedophile pediatrician, who in addition to practicing in his office was called upon in a private clinic, abused his victims in his office. He then lured them to his house or even his car, taking care to park away from prying eyes, in a wood, on the outskirts of the city.
According to the same daily, the accused even abused one of his victims, during the confinement in the private clinic where he was practicing, making believe that it was his son whom he could not keep alone at home while his mother and brothers remained blocked in France. Meanwhile, his accomplice was responsible for reassuring the child’s parents about his absence.
Thanks to the investigations carried out, the accused and his intermediary were arrested and taken into custody. As for the computer equipment used to send and share pornographic content, it was seized and analyzed by the digital forensics laboratory.
Pending the opening of his trial, the pediatrician was presented to the investigating judge of the Court of Appeal of Témara to answer for his actions. His victims number in the dozens and come mainly from the underprivileged neighborhoods of Témara and its region. The number of victims is likely to increase in the coming days given the complaints that the security services of this city continue to record.
