Paris Police Officers Under Investigation for Racist, Sexist Messages in WhatsApp Group

Grouped in a WhatsApp group, 33 officers from the Brigade of Delegations and Proximity Investigations (Bdep) of the 8th arrondissement of Paris are identified, engaging in racist and sexist remarks. An investigation is opened by the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN), for "non-public incitement to racial hatred".
Through a private discussion group on WhatsApp, these Parisian police officers engage in "tasteless jokes" or sexist insults related to cases of violence against women they had handled, reports the site Streerpress, specifying that after examining the group’s exchanges over eight months, "41 racist conversations" were identified.
