Parents in Tangier Urge Crackdown on Hookah Cafes Near Schools

In Tangier, parents of students complain about the proliferation of shisha or hookah cafes, especially those near schools. They call on the authorities to act.
The Association of Parents of Students of the Tariq Ibn Ziyad-Tangier College is outraged by the presence of shisha cafes near several educational institutions, including the Tariq Ibn Ziyad College and the Ahmed Shawqi School. In a formal complaint filed with the governor of the region, it expresses concerns and calls for intervention by the authorities against a shisha cafe.
The concerns of the parents of students at the Tariq Ibn Ziyad - Tangier College are justified by the many dangers associated with shisha, such as addiction, unpleasant odors, lack of hygiene, sharing of the shisha, the impressive smoke clouds inhaled by customers or passive smokers, but also the problematic activities that emerge in these establishments, including drug trafficking, prostitution, and insecurity.
"Some customers of these establishments deceive underage girls and boys in a way that raises concerns for their safety, not to mention the use of foul language and harassment of passing and parked cars near the mentioned institutions," denounces the association.
