Parents Mourn Moroccan Pilot Hind Barch After Fatal Quebec Plane Crash

Touria Maataoui, mother of Hind Barch, the Moroccan pilot who died in a plane crash, said she had accompanied her daughter the day before on a flight to Randan, Quebec.
She adds, with tears in her eyes: "My daughter had successfully taken off and landed. Since childhood, she had dreamed of becoming an airline pilot. She started her career as a flight attendant, then passed all the exams and training before obtaining her pilot’s license".
Speaking on behalf of her still saddened husband, Touria Maataoui wanted to thank all those who helped them find Hind Barch’s body, in particular her instructors at the aviation school, the police, and all the volunteers.
Talking about her daughter, she says: "She was very attached to her little family, calm and altruistic, she loved sports, and had dreamed of becoming a pilot since childhood".
Hind Barch was found dead on Saturday, September 7, after leaving the Calgair base on the night of Wednesday, September 4 to Thursday, September 5, on board a Cessna 172, to perform a "touch and go" in the city of Sherbrooke.
