Panathinaikos Eyes Extended Loan for Moroccan Star Ounahi, Balks at €11.5M Price Tag

Greek club Panathinaikos is reportedly considering the possibility of keeping Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi for an additional season.
The preferred option would be an extension of his current loan, without the Athens club activating the purchase clause negotiated with Olympique de Marseille, the player’s owner.
Greek newspaper Sportime reports that Panathinaikos is not considering paying the 11.5 million euros stipulated in the loan contract to permanently acquire the player. Faced with this amount, the only alternative considered by the club would be to reach an agreement for a new temporary transfer for one season.
However, the realization of this scenario depends on several factors. An agreement from Olympique de Marseille is necessary, as well as the consent of the player himself. But the French club’s position would rather lean towards a permanent sale. In addition, Azzedine Ounahi is said to have mentioned the possibility of accepting an offer deemed interesting from the Saudi championship.
During the season with Panathinaikos, Azzedine Ounahi played 34 matches in all competitions. During these games, he scored 4 goals and provided 7 assists.
