Palestinian Cultural Center Opens in Rabat, Showcasing Cinema and Arts

Good news! Last Thursday saw the inauguration of the Palestinian Cultural Center in Rabat, within the Palestinian Embassy. Far from being just a political facade, a rich and diverse program, focusing on Palestinian culture, is on the agenda.

Cinema, theater, poetry, literature, art... The recently inaugurated Palestinian Cultural Center within the Palestinian Embassy in Rabat promises a lot. The center plans, for example, every last Thursday of each month, according to the MAP, the screening of a Palestinian film or one whose main subject is Palestine, as well as the presentation of Palestinian plays or related to the Palestinian cause.

The second Thursdays of each month will be rich in literature and poetry. Conferences, book signings, poetry evenings and the launch of a short story contest are on the program. In addition, an annual drawing competition in schools is planned, leading to an exhibition of the winning children’s drawings and drawing workshops for Moroccan and Palestinian artists.

But there will also be cooking and embroidery workshops... In short, the rich Palestinian culture will be highlighted. Speaking about this recent inauguration, Jamal Choubki, Ambassador of Palestine to Morocco, stated: "We wish to highlight the Palestinian issue, through culture, the last bastion in the defense of this cause". He added that the cultural center will contribute to strengthening relations with universities and schools.

Finally, let us point out that the embassy also has a library of more than 10,000 books, including specialized works from government institutions in Palestine and Morocco, which will be made available to the public and researchers wishing to inquire about the Palestinian cause.
