Palestinian-Brazilian Man Arrested for Blackmailing Moroccan Women

The judicial police of Al Aroui arrested a 56-year-old Brazilian of Palestinian origin who was blackmailing young Moroccan girls, holding compromising videos and photos of them.
The defendant tried to flee after the competent prosecutor’s office issued a national search warrant against him. The police managed to apprehend him at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca as he was about to board a flight to Brazil. A laptop containing compromising photos and videos of his victims was found in his suitcase.
The case came to light after one of the victims filed a complaint against the accused with the Al Aroui police, claiming that he had threatened to publish her compromising photos and videos if she did not give in to his demands. The investigation revealed the existence of a criminal network led by the accused, which was active not only in Al Aroui, but also in other cities such as El Hajeb and Casablanca.
According to the initial investigation, the accused was dangling false promises of marriage and job opportunities to young women from Taroudant, Casablanca and Al Aroui. After his arrest, the accused was brought before the prosecutor’s office near the Court of Appeal of Nador, which ordered his detention in the prison of Selouane. The investigation is ongoing.
