Outrage in Spain as Community Mourns Moroccan Man’s Murder, Demands Justice

After the murder of Rachid, a Moroccan national, several people expressed their solidarity with his family living in Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands. They are demanding that justice be done.
"RIP # We are all Rachid #", "It hurts us so much that you left us so soon, we miss you", "#We trust in justice", "All our support to the family" and #We are Rachid". The words of solidarity that several people have expressed in memory of the victim. In unison, they are demanding justice following the murder of Rachid.
"We will follow up on this case and we will not stop until justice is done and the perpetrator serves his sentence for the facts. A family of three children has been destroyed, which we will help," said Elouali Charafi, president of an association of Moroccans, behind this solidarity march.
Rachid’s widow, mother of two boys (6 and 1.5 years old) and a 4-year-old daughter, and his eldest brother, Ahmed (Rachid was the youngest of eight brothers in the family, originally from Sifi Ifni), as well as some of his nephews, were present on this occasion.
"Justice will be done. I don’t believe that in a democratic country like Spain, justice will not be done. We have confidence in the Spanish justice system," said Ahmed, who said that his brother’s body had been transferred to Morocco for burial.
Rachid B., a Moroccan-born businessman holding Spanish nationality, succumbed to knife blows from Federico Aem, his Grancanarian chef, aged 59. The latter is in prison, accused of murder.
