Osasuna Coach Hails Ezzalzouli’s ’Genius’ in Copa del Rey Semi-Final Win

Osasuna coach Jagoba Arrasate praised on Wednesday the technical qualities and good play of Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, author of the winning goal against Athletic Bilbao (1-0) in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals.

"We won our previous match against Sevilla and they had a difficult defeat at San Mamés. In the end, the match was decided by Abde’s genius," Arraste said in the post-match press conference against Athletic Bilbao. The coach praised the good form of Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, despite his participation in the World Cup in Qatar with Morocco.

The coach stresses that the match was "very tight" but "balanced". "The two teams neutralized each other. In the only moment when we were better, we took the lead with Abde’s genius. The result is good. That’s what we wanted," he added.

Arraste explains that it is often "very difficult to beat Athletic and every time they lose, it’s by one goal". With this victory, Osasuna has an advantage, but "everything can change" in the return leg, assures the coach who wants to focus on the Liga in the meantime.
