Orange Cyberdefense Expands to Morocco, Eyes Growing African Market

Morocco seems to be attracting global cybersecurity specialists, as evidenced by the installation of the French group Orange Cyberdefense, which has just announced the establishment of a subsidiary in Casablanca.
A cybersecurity specialist, the French company has announced the recruitment of around fifty Moroccan specialists by next year, reports the magazine Jeune Afrique, according to which it is betting on the growth of the African market estimated today at 1.33 billion dollars and which should reach, as early as next year, 2.3 billion dollars. Enough to whet the appetite of large groups.
For the group’s managers, quoted by Jeune Afrique, "this is an additional service that we are offering our clients in the Kingdom to allow them to initiate their digital transformation with complete peace of mind," revealing their intention "to invest in the field of training with the Moroccan academic fabric in order to ensure the best level of expertise."
To better target this increasingly sought-after expertise, Orange Cyberdefense has been grouping the cybersecurity activities of the telephone operator, mainly dedicated to businesses, administrations and of course local authorities, since 2016. In total, the group generated 275 million euros in revenue in 2017 and currently has 1,300 employees worldwide.
The announcement of this installation coincides precisely with the arrest by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) of 16 people in several Moroccan cities accused of having participated in fund diversions from accounts based in international banking institutions, using malware.
