Omicron Surge Halts Plans for Fan Return to Moroccan Football Stadiums

Long awaited by supporters, the return to football stadiums has been compromised by the Omicron variant. The FRMF had nevertheless considered, in consultation with the authorities, the possibility of a return of a gauge.
The clubs were already looking forward to replenishing their coffers with the return of supporters to the stands. But this is without counting on the appearance of the Omicron variant whose spread has been very rapid in Morocco with many cases of contamination, reports the daily Assabah which points out that this possibility temporarily considered by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is no longer on the agenda. At least, not as long as the threat is present.
According to the Arabic-language newspaper, a health protocol had been put in place by the authorities to allow the return of supporters to Botola, but it had not received the support of the supporters, especially the ultras.
