Olympique de Marseille Expands Youth Soccer Program to Morocco, Building on North African Presence

A modern football school will soon open its doors in Morocco. This initiative of Olympique de Marseille (OM) will soon see the light of day in the Kingdom, after the one carried out in Tunisia.
From September 7, 2019, young Tunisians wishing to pursue a career in football will be able to see their long-cherished dream come true. This program, which is starting in Tunisia, also takes into account Morocco, reveals the newspaper Le Monde. The officials of the Phocaean club are betting on the African pool by launching this program from the Maghreb. "Our priority is Africa. We are launching the international program here, in Tunisia. In a few weeks, it will be in Algeria and then in Morocco," said the representatives of Olympique de Marseille (OM), during a recent visit to the country of the Carthage Eagles, reports the same media.
This Tunisian project, called "OM school Tunis", opens on September 7 and is located in Tunis. The same source reports that these schools of the Marseille club (5th in the last Ligue 1 season) are interested in children aged 5 to 16. They will benefit from physical and psychological training sessions, three times a week. In Tunisia, the registration fees are set at 235 € (785 dinars) per quarter.
Quoted by the French media, the club president in charge of international development, Alejandro Requena, stressed the group’s vision in terms of social inclusion. According to him, OM’s priority is not "to create professionals, but to train human resources".
