Olympic Champion Said Aouita Divorces After 37 Years of Marriage

After 37 years of marriage, former world athletics champion, Said Aouita, and his wife Khadija Askhir have signed their divorce. The conciliation request presented by Aouita would not have been successful.
During the hearing that took place on Tuesday at the family court in Casablanca, Said Aouita’s wife opposed the request made by her husband, rejecting any possibility of conciliation, reports Aljarida24.
The affair of the second wife and the many love affairs of the Moroccan athlete would be at the origin of the family problems, continues the same source, specifying that the mother of his children also reproached him for his excessive expenses.
As for the facts, in 1989, two years after his marriage to Khadija Askhir, Said Aouita had a child from an extramarital relationship. To register his son on the civil status register and buy the silence of his mistress, he had to marry her before divorcing her 3 months later and above all pay a very expensive alimony.
