Olympic Champion Said Aouita Files for Divorce After 37-Year Marriage, Affair Revealed
The former world athletics champion, Said Aouita, has initiated divorce proceedings due to disagreement with his wife, Khadija Sakhir, with whom he has shared his life for nearly 37 years. An extramarital affair would be behind this separation.
In 1989, Said Aouita had a child, named Badr, from an extramarital relationship, reports the site Febrayer. The athlete had then decided to marry his mistress, but their union would have only lasted 3 months.
His first wife, Khadija Sakhir, with whom he had 4 children, was unaware of her husband’s adventure, let alone the existence of another child, the same source specifies.
The situation then became untenable, and the couple would have agreed to separate, by initiating divorce proceedings, the first hearing of which took place on Tuesday at the family court in Casablanca.
