Olive oil in Morocco: prices (sharply) down

This relief on the shelves is the direct consequence of an exceptional 2025-2026 campaign. The national olive production is expected to exceed 2 million tons, an increase of 111% compared to last year. This abundance allows for a volume of 200,000 tons of oil, up 105%. Prices now vary between 50 and 80 dirhams per liter in the main production basins such as Fès-Meknès, the Oriental and Marrakech-Safi.

This turnaround is explained by finally favorable weather, after years of drought. The winter temperatures have met the cold needs of the trees, while the rains of March and April 2025 have favored flowering.

But this success is also structural. It validates the efforts of the "Génération Green" strategy, which has supported the modernization of orchards and the optimization of yields. The Ministry of Agriculture remains cautious, however, recalling that the final price will still depend on domestic demand and the technical yield of extraction.
