The Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT) trained 353,581 trainees, including 22,600 enrolled in qualifying training, for the 2018-2019 season, according to data announced at the Board of Directors meeting of this institution, held last Monday in Rabat.
"The assessment of OFPPT’s activity for the 2018-2019 fiscal year recorded several changes due to the reforms undertaken by the Office’s management, following the royal guidelines," said the Director General, Lourna Tricha.
This was during the meeting chaired by the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Saïd Amzazi.
According to Lourna Tricha’s confidences, 7 vocational training centers will be created in Guinea-Conakry, Mali, Gabon, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Senegal, in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development. Also, the deployment of training and certification actions for 5,211 employees is planned.
At the opening of the Board of Directors’ proceedings, Saïd Amzazi recalled that the meeting comes in the particular interest accorded by King Mohammed VI to the promotion of vocational training, as an important vector of the new development model.
He also commended the efforts made by OFPPT’s management and staff "in translating strategic and political guidelines in the field of vocational training into concrete actions".
