US Official Seeks Embassy Help in Morocco Sextortion Case; Two Arrested

Two individuals were arrested in Salé after a senior US official who claims to be a victim of sextortion sought help from the US Embassy in Washington. The alleged mastermind of this network is on the run.
In his complaint, the American claims to have been a victim of extortion and constant harassment from members of an organized crime network, reports Assabah. The alleged mastermind of this network, a man from the province of Khouribga, is said to have extorted several tens of thousands of dollars from him in exchange for not disclosing video sequences.
According to the senior US official, this network has become too demanding to the point that he had to seek help from the Moroccan authorities. He was required to make around fifty transfers in exchange for not releasing private sex videos.
The Moroccan authorities have taken this sextortion case very seriously. The police conducted investigations that led to the arrest of two suspects in Salé. They were then detained in the El Arjat prison. The alleged mastermind of the network, on the other hand, is actively being sought by the police. An arrest warrant has been issued against him.
