Moroccan Man in Norway Falls Victim to Online Sextortion Scheme

The anti-cybercrime services of the judicial police in El Jadida have arrested a 23-year-old man accused of sextortion. The victim is a Moroccan residing in Norway.
The case came to light following a complaint filed by a woman on behalf of her husband, a Moroccan residing in Norway for 30 years, reports Assabah. According to the facts, the suspect, a 23-year-old young man, contacted the MRE under a female identity. Discussions, exchanges of videos on social networks, virtual intimacy, camera pointed... The young man filmed several compromising scenes before blackmailing the MRE. The latter agreed to send him money through a transfer company.
But the investigations and research proved fruitful: the young suspect was identified and arrested in Oued Zem. The investigators are actively searching for his accomplice. During his interrogation, the accused rejected the accusations outright.
The searches and investigations carried out at his home were unsuccessful. No evidence that could implicate him was found. In the absence of evidence, the suspect was released. As for the complainant, she simply withdrew her complaint.
