Objective "Zero Chicha": How Agadir Wants to Eliminate Bad Practices
The authorities in Agadir have intensified their controls in major tourist areas. This operation has led to the massive seizure of hookahs and strict reminders about hygiene and health safety.
In the Corniche and Sonaba sectors, the law enforcement authorities conducted surprise raids targeting cafes and restaurants. The main objective was to dismantle the illegal hookah services. The results did not take long to materialize: hundreds of hookahs were confiscated, as well as significant quantities of "maassel" (flavored tobacco) of dubious origin.

Alongside the seizures, the authorities rigorously inspected the sanitary safety conditions. Several establishments received firm warnings following the observation of shortcomings in hygiene standards. These interventions directly respond to a wave of complaints filed by residents and tourists, concerned about the impact of these activities on public health and the tranquility of the beach areas.
