Notorious "Hashish Kingpin" Reportedly Flees Moroccan Hideout

The famous hashish trafficker, Abdellah El Haj, known as the "Messi of hashish", would have left his residence in Tangier where he has been hiding since 2019, after the partial dismantling of his network in Spain.
Abdellah El Haj, fleeing the Spanish authorities in 2019 after the dismantling of part of his network, took refuge in Tangier from where he continued to conduct his business with impunity. Since then, the Messi of hashish has become more active and has started investing in his own hashish production.
But he would have been recently spotted crossing the strait, "either by boat or by jet ski," according to sources from the national police to Taquigrafo, specifying that El Haj would no longer feel safe in his hideout in Tangier after the new agreements between the Spanish and Moroccan governments. The Moroccan authorities would have started tracking him down, according to the same sources close to the case.
Being actively wanted in the Campo de Gibraltar region, Algeciras and the Costa del Sol, he tries not to stay too long in the same place so as not to be caught by the Spanish or Moroccan authorities, analyze the same sources.
After his escape in 2019, several members of his network were arrested. The latest operation to date, carried out jointly at the end of July 2021 by the Civil Guard and the National Police, led to the arrest of 77 people and the seizure of 8 tons of hashish.
