Notorious Drug Lord ’Messi of Hashish’ Evades Capture, Believed to Be in Morocco

Wanted by the Spanish justice to answer various crimes, Abdellah El Haj Sadek El Menbri, alias "Messi of hashish", remains untraceable. The fugitive criminal, considered the head of the largest hashish trafficking network in Spain, is said to have taken refuge in Morocco, his country of origin.
The "Messi of hashish" has been wanted since April 2019 by the Algeciras prosecutor’s office, which has issued an international arrest warrant against him. Prosecuted for drug trafficking, money laundering and membership in a criminal organization, the drug baron had taken advantage of his provisional release to flee, recalls El Faro de Ceuta.
The drug trafficker, considered one of Europol’s most wanted fugitives, is said to have taken refuge in northern Morocco, his country of origin, where he enjoys his freedom, organizing private parties and attending football matches. Since last September, he has completely disappeared from the radar.
Before his escape, the "Messi of hashish" had left a note in which he informed of his "decision to disappear for a while, because I am really afraid for my integrity and that of my family. All this because of the enormous police pressure to which I am subjected and which, in recent times, has become unbearable, preventing me from leading a normal life".
