Nike Designer Accuses Moroccan Firm of Copying Mauritania’s Soccer Jersey Design

The Moroccan equipment manufacturer AB Sport has managed to seduce more than one by producing the official jersey of the Mauritanian national team for its participation in the 2019 Africa Cup. However, the Nike designer has just accused it of plagiarism, while specifying that the file has already been entrusted to its legal department.
All the enthusiasm generated around the new jersey of the Mourabitounes will have lasted only a few days. Designed and manufactured by the Moroccan equipment manufacturer AB Sport, the Mauritanian jersey for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) has delighted the Mauritanians and strongly impressed more than one on social networks.
However, Craig Wrad, who works at Nike, accuses the Moroccan equipment manufacturer and Mauritania of plagiarism. Indeed, on his personal Twitter account, reports Hespress, the graphic designer is outraged: "I’ve already been robbed, but never by an entire country. Nice work Mauritania... Nike’s legal team is on the case, but I’m surprised this could happen in such an environment," fumes Craig Wrad, thus directly targeting the Moroccan company AB Sport for having "plagiarized, without authorization, the font shape."
In another tweet, the graphic designer said that if the equipment manufacturer had asked him for permission to copy the font, he would have given his approval, before adding that "the case is now in the hands of Nike’s legal department."
