Niger-Algeria World Cup Qualifier May Move to Niamey as Stadium Renovations Progress

Morocco was supposed to host on October 10 the Niger-Algeria match, counting for the 4th round of the 2nd round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. But according to the latest news, the renovation of the General Seyni Kountché stadium in Niamey would already be at a level that could allow the match.
Niger had already requested Morocco during the first round of the World Cup qualifiers. It was for the match that opposed it to Burkina Faso and which was held at the Grand Stadium of Marrakech. The country still planned to face Algeria on the same pitch, but according to Foot Afrique, the renovation work is at an acceptable level and may perhaps allow Niger to play its match against Algeria on its own facilities.
According to the same source, the verdict of the CAF Stadium Inspection Commission is awaited to determine the sports officials of the two countries. For the moment, Algeria and Burkina Faso are at the top of the group with four points each. But the Greens have a better goal average (+8 against +2 for the Stallions). Niger is in third place, with three points, and Djibouti is holding the lantern with (0 point).
