Nice Midfielder Sofiane Diop Reportedly Chooses Senegal for International Career

Sofiane Diop would have decided to defend the colors of Senegal, the country of his father, reports the specialized account Joueurs sénégalais. If this information is confirmed, the 23-year-old offensive midfielder would join the den of the Lions of Teranga and appear on the list of coach Aliou Cissé. Senegal will face Rwanda on September 9 and 12 as part of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, then cross swords with Algeria in a friendly match at the Abdoulaye Wade stadium.

A few months earlier, the Franco-Senegalese-Moroccan had been cautious about his sports nationality. "My father is Senegalese, my mother is Moroccan and I was born in France.
