NGO Warns: 10,000 Unaccompanied Moroccan Minors Face Crisis in Spain

The NGO Save the Children has, in a recent report, alerted the Moroccan authorities to the situation of irregular Moroccan minors in Spain. There would be 10,000 of them.
There are more than 10,000 irregular Moroccan minors, representing 7% of all minors present on Spanish territory (147,000) and 50% of the 19,000 irregular minors from Africa, according to the report of the Spanish section of the NGO Save the Children. These statistics show that the number of Moroccan minors is significant in the overall migration flows from South to North.
These minors face enormous difficulties: poverty, social exclusion, violence, etc. They are in a vulnerable situation. They do not have social protection and are often mistreated, which puts them in constant danger and exposes them to human trafficking, especially child trafficking, the report reveals. Likewise, it is difficult to have access to justice because of their irregular situation.
