Nexans to Invest €100 Million in New Moroccan Cable Plant, Creating 200 Jobs

After its installation in Casablanca and Mohammedia, Nexans has just announced a major investment in Morocco. In total, at least 200 jobs should be created.
With a budget of 100 million euros, this project plans to build a new medium-voltage cable production plant in Morocco by 2026. This facility will be added to the existing sites in Casablanca and Mohammedia.
This project is not limited to simple industrial development, but is also part of an energy transition approach. The investment will benefit from the support of various Moroccan government entities (ministries, ONEE, AMDIE), as well as Nexans’ commitment to comply with high standards of digitization and sustainability, in line with Industry 4.0 principles.
A subsidiary of the Nexans group since 1947, Nexans Maroc has established itself in the Moroccan market as a leader in the electrical equipment sector. It is also very active in the Maghreb and African markets.
In 2020, it had achieved a turnover of around 1.7 billion dirhams and employed 675 people.
