Netflix's "Lonely Planet" Brings Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth to Morocco for Romantic Drama

Netflix has shot its new romantic film "Lonely Planet" in Morocco, starring American actress Laura Dern, 57, and Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, 34.

Hollywood stars Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth are the lead actors in the romantic film "Loney Planet". The former is the cult actress of "Jurassic Park", Oscar-winning for her work in "Marriage Story". In 2020, she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the film Marriage Story by Noah Baumbach. The latter is known for his role in the Hunger Games quadrilogy. In 2020, he participated in the film "Arkansas" and the series "Most Dangerous Game". The film follows Dern in the role of a lonely novelist who arrives at a prestigious writers’ retreat in Morocco. Instead of finding a cure for her writer’s block, she unexpectedly falls in love with a young man.

On Tuesday, Netflix released the first images of the two Hollywood stars in their May-December romance. One of the images shows Dern leaning on a black motorcycle, wearing a white linen shirt and a colorful skirt, and looking at Hemsworth standing next to her in a buttoned shirt and blue jeans.

Another photo shows them engaged in a conversation, smiling at each other. In a third shot, we see them walking together in a picturesque blue street in Morocco. Certainly the city of Chefchaouen, nicknamed the blue pearl.

Hemsworth is happy to have worked with Dern. "Sharing scenes with Laura Dern has been an absolute privilege. She has this remarkable talent to draw you in, so that every moment is intimate and real," he said, according to Tudum. A sentiment shared by the American actress. "He not only became a friend and confidant during our Moroccan adventure, but our shared desire for honesty and intimacy in all relationships touched me deeply. We were very close, so telling this story together meant a lot... and he’s really funny, so I laughed the whole time," Dern rejoiced.

American screenwriter, producer and director Susannah Grant, known for her work on the films "Unbelievable" and "My Life Without You", is the director of "Lonely Planet". The film will be released on Netflix on October 11.
