Netflix Hikes Subscription Prices in France, Global Rollout Expected

You love Netflix, you’re going to have to dig deeper into your pockets. The video streaming platform has just announced an increase in most of its rates. This increase concerns, for the moment, certain countries. But it should, in the end, be generalized and also affect Moroccan users.
French users had the (unpleasant) surprise of seeing the prices change as of yesterday, Thursday, June 20, 2019. The increases will thus be from 1 to 2 euros, depending on the formulas chosen. Consequently, if users want quality, i.e. better image definition, they have to pay more.
The base price remains 7.99 euros. But it is only available for one screen and in lower quality. For those who want more and more screens, you will have to pay the so-called standard subscription at 11.99 euros, which is an increase of one euro compared to the previous price list. This rate allows you to watch your movies and series on two screens, with better quality (HD).
You’re looking for better quality, with 4 simultaneous screens, you’ll pay 15.99 euros instead of 13.99 euros previously. This rate gives you the ability to watch your movies in 4k quality, provided the connection in Morocco follows, but that’s another story.
The new rates, applicable in several countries, concern new subscribers. But Netflix had already accustomed us in the past to pass on this increase to all its users. Moroccans will therefore be affected, sooner or later.
When it was launched in Morocco, a survey had revealed that the catalog available to Moroccans was one of the worst offered in the world. So not only is the catalog smaller, but Moroccans will have to pay more. Thank you, Netflix!
