Netflix Film Sparks Outrage Over Scene Depicting Dancing Worshippers

The film "Sheikh Jackson", which traces the life of an imam with troubled beliefs and convictions at the announcement of Michael Jackson’s death, is currently being broadcast on the Netflix platform.

Shocked by a scene in the film broadcast on Netflix, where we see worshipers who were praying start to dance like Michael Jackson, many subscribers to the platform have called for a boycott of the film.

On social networks, especially on Twitter, several Internet users condemn the scene. The hashtag #BoycottNetflix has been created for this purpose. As a form of protest, some even plan to unsubscribe from the platform.

"I boycott Netflix because you do not respect Muslims and their religion; it’s shameful," tweeted an Internet user. "They will understand that our religion is neither for sale nor to be laughed at ONLY when we Muslims of France as a whole strike at the wallet! BOYCOTT NETFLIX!", writes another.

Other, more moderate Internet users express their disagreement differently. "The #BoycottNetflix, it’s too much, I feel. I think we need to ease the pressure and sometimes accept being ridiculed, it wouldn’t hurt anyone (as long as it’s done with respect of course)," we can read.
