ISIS Threatens Actors of Netflix Hit 'Mosul' Over Portrayal of Iraqi SWAT Team

Actors in the hit film "Mosul" shot in Morocco and released on Netflix are being threatened with death by the terrorist organization ISIS.

Apparently, the script of the successful film directed by Matthew Michael Carnahan did not please the terrorist organization. "Mosul" tells the heroic mission and fight of a SWAT team in the city against ISIS. This film is inspired by real events, and was interpreted in darija, Moroccan Arabic.

The death threats and intimidation coming from anonymous individuals claiming to be from ISIS or identifying as its supporters have been made against the actors of the film following the announcement of its release. "When I posted on social media that the film was going to be released, from the first day there was a lot of ISIS content. They posted a lot of videos and insults. For example, ’now we know you, you have to be careful. Every day, touch your head to make sure it’s still there. We know where you live and we’re going to get to you,’" testifies Iraqi actor Suhail Dabbach, who plays the role of Major Jasem.

Franco-Moroccan actor Adam Bessa, who plays the other lead role of Kawa, also received death threats on WhatsApp. His Instagram account was hacked and completely erased.
