En-Nesyri Shines for Fenerbahçe with 25th Goal of Season

Youssef En-Nesyri is doing wonders at Fenerbahçe. The Moroccan international was decisive this week against Gaziantep (4-1), in the 3rd round of the Turkish Cup group stage, scoring a superb goal.
XXL performance for En-Nesyri. The Moroccan striker contributed to his club’s victory by scoring the second goal with a magnificent half-volley. The 27-year-old player thus scores his fourth goal in the Turkish Cup and his 25th in all competitions since the start of the season. The Atlas Lion also has five assists in all competitions. In great form this season, the former Sevilla FC player is in the plans of his coach, José Mourinho, who has always believed in his talent, despite his difficult beginnings in the Istanbul club.
"You criticized him, but I trusted him. My sports director and I were criticized, the club too, for investing a lot of money on him. Some even wanted him to be sold to Saudi Arabia as early as January to avoid financial losses. Today, everyone sees what a player he is. The team is playing very well, which also helps him. He has scored 15 goals in the league without taking penalties, and he is also scoring in the European Cup and the Turkish Cup. Right now, he is doing an exceptional job," said the Portuguese technician in a recent statement.
Like En-Nesyri, other Moroccan strikers are shining with their clubs. This is the case of Ayoub El Kaabi, the Olympiacos striker, who scored a brace on Sunday against Panserraikos, in the 23rd round of the Greek championship. These in-form Atlas Lions should feature on Walid Regragui’s list for the upcoming matches against Niger and Tanzania, scheduled for March as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
