Nayef Aguerd worries Walid Regragui
Injured during the warm-up, Nayef Aguerd, the central defender of Olympique de Marseille, was unable to play against AJ Auxerre (1-0) on Saturday, during the 11th round of Ligue 1. Bad news for Walid Regragui, the coach of the Atlas Lions, who is finalizing his list for the upcoming friendly matches.
Nayef Aguerd, who was already suffering from hip pain, was injured during the warm-up, his coach Roberto De Zerbi said. "Regarding Aguerd, he had been bothered by his hip for a few days, he had made himself available, but during the warm-up, it was not possible," explained the coach, who hopes that his defender will be fit before the match next Wednesday against Atalanta Bergamo in the Champions League.
Due to this injury, the Moroccan international, the starting central defender of the Atlas Lions, could miss the next two friendly matches against Mozambique and Uganda, scheduled for November. Walid Regragui, the national coach of the Moroccan team, continues to finalize his list of players for these two matches, which will be unveiled on Friday, according to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
The Moroccan coach will hold a press conference on Friday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé, to present his list of players for the friendly matches against Mozambique and Uganda, scheduled for November 14 and 18 at the Grand Stade de Tanger, as part of the preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
