Muslim Dating Groups Surge in Popularity on Facebook

Like "Meeting and Marriage between Muslims", there are several other groups on Facebook dedicated to meetings between lovers. They receive an impressive number of visits from men and women who hope to meet their soul mate.
Created barely a year and a half ago, this space dedicated to idyllic encounters is seeing the number of its visitors explode, notes Alnas. In reality, more than 77,000 Internet users today trust this network, which offers them a friendly space to build a future married life.
"No incitement to hatred or harassment, respect the confidentiality of all, be kind and courteous, no phone number in your ad". This is a sentence that serves as a code of conduct for this group in which you can share photos, videos, articles, questions, proposals and many other things, as long as you do not disturb the other visitors.
In addition to "Meeting and Marriage between Muslims" which is thriving, there are many other groups engaged in this same dynamic, as confirmed by a survey by the Ifop institute according to which 66% of French Muslims say they are interested in a dating site between people of their faith.
However, this type of meeting seems to disturb some Muslim scholars. For some, it is intolerable for a Muslim to "correspond with a foreign woman" or "maintain communication with her, even under the pretext of getting to know her or getting married, whether by ordinary means or by Internet".
