Facebook Dominates as Top News Source for Young Moroccans, Study Finds

Young Moroccans have developed a particular interest in social networks, especially Facebook, to stay informed about national and international news.
In the eyes of young Moroccans, Facebook is at the top of the credible social networks when it comes to information. This is what the Arab Barometer reveals in a report published on September 5, 2019.
To arrive at these conclusions, a study was conducted from September 2018 to April 2019. It indicates that 67% of young Moroccans consider social sites as their primary source of information, compared to 55% in Tunisia and 49% in Algeria.
Morocco is also one of the Arab countries where young people make up 77% to trust social media more than traditional media.
The same report also indicates that the highest percentage of young people active on social networks in the Middle East and North Africa is found in Morocco. These young people represent 96% while the Internet usage rate among young Moroccans is 93%.
