According to reports from Alyam24, the border infrastructure is currently overwhelmed by the volume of visitors coming from Europe to spend the New Year’s Eve in Morocco. The narrowness of the waiting areas combined with the necessary rigor of the control procedures creates an immediate bottleneck effect.

Faced with this blockage, local and associative actors unanimously recommend turning away from Ceuta. The port of Tanger Med is presented as the most rational alternative. Although sometimes slightly more expensive in terms of tickets, this option offers superior fluidity, adapted infrastructure and direct access to the motorway network as soon as you leave the boat, sparing families from hours of grueling waiting.
