Mother Arrested for Exhuming Child’s Remains in Fertility Ritual Attempt

A rather strange scene at the Jorf El Melha cemetery, near Sidi Kacem, where three women were caught in the act of exhuming the body of a child. Among them, the child’s mother.
What can a mother be looking for in the cemetery, digging up the body of her dead child, a few months ago? Witchcraft rituals, say the first witnesses of this rather strange scene. According to the daily Assabah, the mother reportedly confessed to the police that she wanted to use her son’s bones for a purification bath in order to have children.
She said she acted alone, and her accomplices, who are her mother-in-law and her neighbor "only accompanied her because she was afraid for herself". The accused was nevertheless released because she would be in a "lamentable psychological state" since the death of her child.
