Most Wanted Spanish Fugitive "El Pastilla" Evades Capture After Prison Break

Yousef Mohamed Lehrech, nicknamed "El Pastilla", is currently the most wanted individual by the Spanish police since his spectacular escape from the Alcalá-Meco prison in Madrid.
The events took place on December 23, when he took advantage of a flaw in the surveillance to escape discreetly, after less than twenty days of detention. He had been transferred from the Algeciras prison for his own safety, following the assassination of his former boss, Nayim K.A., in Cadiz last April.
The escape was carried out smoothly during a visit, where Yousef claimed to have an appointment and blended in with the visitors during this busy period before the Christmas and New Year holidays. The lack of dedicated surveillance facilitated his exit.
Investigators believe that Yousef could have fled to Morocco, where he would have many contacts. Despite the intensification of the search and the issuance of an international arrest warrant, he remains untraceable. Before his escape, Yousef was in detention for two murders, one of which was due to a dispute with a rival gang.
