Morocco’s Ziyech Slams Dutch Coach Koeman Over ’Crazy’ Payment Allegations

The remarks of Ronald Koeman, coach of the Netherlands, were not to the liking of the Atlas Lion, Hakim Ziyech. According to him, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) would have paid money to Moroccan players from the diaspora to participate in the national team’s matches.
In an interview with a Dutch channel, the coach of the Oranges had accused the FRMF of "paying money to holders of Moroccan-Dutch dual nationality, in order to represent the Atlas Lions in the various championships".
Hakim Ziyech described the Dutch coach’s allegations as "madness". He declares: "Lately, we have been witnessing a lot of crazy rumors. And your statements are a form of it that I have no knowledge of."
Koeman’s statements coincide with the Moroccan federation’s attempts to persuade PSV Eindhoven star Mohamed Iharaten, of Moroccan origin, to wear the national colors.
