Morocco’s Ziyech Returns to National Team Under New Coach Regragui

The Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech who refused to play for Morocco under coach Vahid will soon join the Atlas Lions squad. The exchanges between Walid Regragui, the new coach of the national team, and the Chelsea star have been conclusive.
The wish dear to the supporters of the Atlas Lions is coming true. After several months of absence due to his quarrel with the former coach of the Moroccan national team, the Franco-Bosnian technician Vahid Hailhodzic, Hakim Ziyech is returning to the national team. He will be at the Mohammed VI football complex in Maâmora next week as part of the preparation camp for the two friendly matches against Chile (September 23) and Paraguay (September 27) in Spain.

National coach Walid Regragui confirmed the big return of the Moroccan striker during a press conference held at the Mohammed VI football complex in Maâmora on Monday. "When I called him, he immediately said yes, he said he was impatient to return to the national team... It was an obligation to do everything to bring Hakim back," he said, expressing his willingness to maintain good relations with the former Ajax Amsterdam star whose temperament he knows.
"I know he has a rather strong character, he can for example raise his hand as a sign of protest if I replace him, he is a player who does everything to assert himself on the pitch and play... If he does that after scoring two goals, it suits us perfectly," he explained. And he added: "We will wait for the Hakim that all Moroccans love... the one who battles on the pitch and gives everything to his national team. He has a lot of quality, even if he doesn’t always play, he’s a Chelsea player, it’s not just any club."
