Morocco’s Ziyech Dazzles with Left-Foot Magic for Club and Country

From the last World Cup to the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Côte d’Ivoire 2024) through Galatasaray, his current club, the magical left foot of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech delights the supporters, but also his teammates.
Hakim Ziyech’s left foot has already greatly helped Morocco, but also the Turkish club to reach the heights. The brilliant participation in the 2022 Qatar World Cup is the perfect illustration of this. We will also remember the friendly match between Morocco and Georgia, which ended in a crushing victory for the Atlas Lions (3-0). That evening, the Moroccan attacking midfielder scored the second goal (29th minute of play) with breathtaking ease. A goal scored from nearly 60 meters. This season, this magical foot has brought joy to Galatasaray. He was resplendent in the match between Manchester United and his club (3-3). Trailing by two goals, the Turkish club bounced back thanks to the former Chelsea player, scoring two goals and providing an assist, thus putting the Mancunians in a very bad position before the last day of the Champions League group stage.
After missing the 2021 CAN in Cameroon due to his quarrel with the former coach of the Moroccan national team, Vahid Halilhodžić, Ziyech, who has returned to the national team, is delighting with the national team at the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) currently taking place in Côte d’Ivoire. He contributed to the victory of the Atlas Lions over Tanzania (3-0) in their first match of group F.
His magical left foot allowed his teammates to score goals. "We won, but we will keep our feet on the ground. [...] I think we managed things well. We saw the World Cup version of the team," said Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan national team, after the match.
The Atlas Lions hope that their teammate Ziyech will be able to maintain his form for the next matches. Placed in group F, they will play their second match of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Côte d’Ivoire 2024) against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the San Pedro stadium and will then face Zambia (winner of the 2012 edition with a certain Hervé Renard), on Wednesday, January 24.
