Marseille’s Harit Heads to Turkey: Moroccan Star Seeks World Cup Glory in Surprise Loan Move

Amine Harit’s adventure with Marseille is coming to an end. Lacking playing time under the direction of Roberto De Zerbi, the attacking midfielder is leaving Olympique de Marseille to rebound in the Turkish championship, where the official announcement of his transfer is expected in the coming hours.
According to information from Foot Mercato, the Moroccan international will be loaned with a purchase option to Istanbul Başakşehir. A logical outcome for a player whose role had diminished and who, not registered on the Champions League list, was clearly invited by his management to find a new project.
After declining an offer from the Saudi club of Al-Diraiyah, the Atlas Lion has chosen Turkey to regain a starting position. His goal is clear: to accumulate playing time in order to best prepare for the 2026 World Cup with Morocco, and possibly the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for the end of the year in Morocco.
