Morocco’s El Yamiq Eyes National Team Comeback for Africa Cup Qualifiers

Moroccan international Jawad El Yamiq could make his return to the national team, during the next two matches of the Atlas Lions against the Central African Republic in March.
Excluded from the previous national team matches, the good performances of the Moroccan player with his club, Saragossa, are at the origin of this turnaround by the national coach Vahid Halilhodzic. According to Al Massae, Jawad El Yamiq has managed to convince the Bosnian coach, who plans to line him up during the third and fourth rounds of the 2021 CAN qualifiers against the Central African Republic in March.
The same source argues that the Saragossa defender disappeared from the coach’s list after a defeat of Morocco (2-3) against Gabon, during a match that showed the fragility of the Atlas Lions’ defense and particularly that of El Yamiq.
The player is making a comeback thanks to his technical qualities and physical strength to recover the ball and move it forward. Once selected, El Yamiq will have to shine with the national team and earn the trust of the national coach, as he had done with Saragossa, who aspires to return to the first division of La Liga and redeem his loan contract which extends until the end of this season.
Note that the first leg of the Atlas Lions against the Central African Republic will be played on March 27 at the Mohammed V complex in Casablanca, while the return leg is scheduled for March 31 in Bangui.
