Morocco’s World Cup Qualifier Squad to be Announced Thursday
National coach Vahid Halilhodzic will unveil, this Thursday, the list of players called up to take part in the Atlas Lions’ next three World Cup 2022 qualifying matches.
The list of players will be unveiled during a press conference starting at 11 a.m. The Atlas Lions will have to play three matches in one week, but at home. A double confrontation against Guinea Bissau, on October 6 and 9, then the missed match in Conakry will be played on the 12th of the same month. Three important matches for the Moroccan national team that will determine the rest of Morocco’s journey in these qualifiers.
Even if the Atlas Lions have the advantage of playing at home, the lack of time between the three matches can be an obstacle. Some observers also think that the dispute between the coach and Hakim Ziyech could affect the team’s morale.
According to the latter, if Hakim Ziyech’s absence, excluded for "disciplinary" reasons, is confirmed, Halilhodzic’s list could include players like Amine Harit (Olympique Marseille) and Noussair Mazraoui (Ajax Amsterdam).
